TOPIC:  THE INS AND OUTS OF THE HATCH ACT IN THIS HOTLY CONTESTED ELECTION YEAR.

SPEAKER:  ERIC JOHNSON, TEAM LEAD, HATCH ACT UNIT, U.S. OFFICE OF SPECIAL COUNSEL.

Mr. Eric Johnson is an experienced attorney and Team Lead with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel’s Hatch Act Unit.  The Hatch Act imposes certain limitations on the political activities of federal, state, and local government employees.  Eric advises on the applicability of the Hatch Act, investigates alleged violations, and prosecutes violations before the Merit Systems Protection Board.  Before joining OSC, Eric worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce in the Ethics Law and Programs Division.  He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
