SFLERP Hosts Intensive Primer on Federal LR-ER Training

The Society is sponsoring two intensive training opportunities on Federal Labor and Employee Relations to be held September 24-27, 2019, at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, 400 Dulany Street, in Alexandria, VA.

A Primer: Federal Labor Relations will be held Tuesday, September 24 to Wednesday, September 25, 2019, and includes among other topics: terms and roles of third parties; bargaining units and exclusive representation; statutory rights of the parties; representation rights; formal discussions and investigations; grievances and arbitration. The Faculty for this course includes Howard Friedman, former President of NTEU Chapter 245 at the US PTO; Arbitrator Sean Rogers; and Scott Schwartz, formerly with the NCUA.

A Primer: Federal Employee Relations will be held Thursday, September 26 to Friday, September 27, 2019, and includes topics such as annual and sick leave; leave without pay and AWOL; dealing with attendance issues; performance management; critical elements and standards; performance-based actions, and disciplinary action. Faculty members are Barbara Haga, Federal HR Services, Inc., and Peyton Diotalevi, NTEU.

Training Location

The course(s) will be held in Alexandria, Virginia, at a location within walking distance to a metro station.  Address and other information will be provided with your confirmation email.  The training begins at 8:30AM and ends around 4:00PM each day. The registration desk opens at 8:00AM.

Tuition

Tuition for SFLERP members is $295 for either the LR or ER course or a special price of $495 for both courses. Tuition for non-members is $395 for either course or $635 for both courses. When registering, click on the member or nonmember status and the tuition costs will appear.  Paying by training authorization, purchase order or voucher incurs an additional $20 processing fee. Cancellation Policy and Refunds

Full refunds (except for a $50 cancellation fee) will be issued if you cancel your registration in writing by Tuesday, September 10, 2019. No refunds will be issued after that date and purchase orders and other forms will be invoiced. Substitutions are permitted at any time but the member/non-member rate applies.
